Here in the Eurobodalla — especially around Mogo, Tomakin, Broulee, Batemans Bay, Moruya, and the surrounding 2536 and 2537 communities — families care deeply about where their food comes from. We hear the same questions every week:

“Where does your fruit and veg come from?”
“Is this actually fresh and local?”
“Do you offer any good snacks for kids?”
    “Is this low-spray or clean?”
    “Is this spray-free?”

Families want to know exactly what they’re feeding their kids — and honestly, they’re tired of guessing in the supermarket aisle. We get it.

And yes… our boxes are often the same price, if not cheaper, than the big supermarkets. But what makes us different is that we make healthy choices easier: clearer sourcing, cleaner produce, seasonal boxes, and local delivery straight to your door.

It’s one of the biggest reasons we focus on pesticide-free produce.

And honestly? This isn’t about perfection or trends. It’s about keeping food simple, clean, and natural for local families — especially mums wanting the best for their kids, people with sensitivities, and anyone wanting to feel better day to day.

We know there are plenty of great places to buy organic produce around here, especially at the weekend markets, and we love supporting those growers.

But what sets Health-E-Living apart is:

    • Pesticide-free and local where possible

    • Made-for-you boxes that make healthy eating easy

    • A focus on families who want convenience and quality

Our goal has always been simple: help local families eat well, learn more, and make healthy living doable.

So here’s an easy breakdown — no fear, no judgement, just clear information.

Do Australian farmers follow strict rules? Yes.

Does that mean your fruit & veg is chemical-free? Not always.

Australia has strong food-safety standards, but “safe” doesn’t mean “spray-free.” It simply means residues stay below the legal limit.

    In reality:

    • Some produce carries multiple residues

    • Some chemicals are absorbed inside the plant

    • Kids, pregnant women, and sensitive individuals can be more affected

    • Washing helps — but not everything washes off

We’re not here to scare anyone. We just believe you deserve clarity, honest sourcing, and real choices.

    Why we choose pesticide-free produce

    1. Better for your body

Less chemicals = less load on your system.
If you’re working on gut health, immunity, hormones, or helping kids concentrate, lowering pesticide exposure is an easy win.

    2. Better for our growers

We partner with small growers who prioritise healthy soil, natural growing practices, water protection, and biodiversity. Their produce is grown with care — not chemicals.

    3. Better for the planet

No-spray practices protect waterways (especially important in the Eurobodalla), support pollinators, and help long-term sustainability.

Some fruit & veg are sprayed more than others

Australian research — and our growers — show these are often higher in residues:

    • Berries

    • Apples

    • Grapes

    • Leafy greens

    • Herbs

These are the items we prioritise as pesticide-free every week.

    “Can I just wash it?”

Washing always helps — but it can’t remove sprays absorbed inside the plant or used early in the growth cycle. That’s why we source produce that starts clean from the beginning.

How our boxes make it easy for busy families

    • Seasonal and local where possible

    • Pesticide-free

    • Packed fresh every Friday

    • Clear sourcing — no confusion

    • Great for kids, busy parents, and anyone wanting clean food without effort

You don’t need to overhaul your whole diet. Just start with the fruit and veg you eat every day. Small changes make a big difference.

Small steps to reduce pesticide exposure this week

    • Rinse all produce

    • Choose no-spray berries, apples, grapes & greens

    • Buy seasonal

    • Mix up your fruit & veg

    • Support local growers

    • Choose boxes with transparent sourcing, and pesticide-free produce!

Little habits add up over time — especially for families.

A quick note from our community

Even though we only launched our Fruit & Veg Boxes in August — at the same time we brought Health-E-Living online — they’ve quickly become our most-loved offering across the Mogo–Batemans Bay–Broulee–Tomakin–Moruya area. Many families who try a box end up buying weekly or fortnightly because it takes the overwhelm out of healthy eating.

For Grace, this part of the business carries deep meaning. After losing her husband unexpectedly, she’s poured her heart into sharing the health knowledge and habits she’s built over many years. Health-E-Living has always been about community — helping people feel well, supported, and connected through food.

We might be a small local store, but everything we stock and every box we pack has one purpose: to offer products that genuinely make sense for everyday life and support the wellbeing of the people we care about.

Life can change in a moment — and caring for ourselves, nourishing our bodies, and feeding our families well is one of the most grounding ways we honour the days we’re given.
