Homemade Citrus Bone Broth Gummies
Here’s a bright, citrusy recipe to make the most of fresh, in-season oranges. Surprisingly simple to prepare, these homemade gummies also use a pantry staple you might not expect: bone broth.
Inspired by Gevity Rx’s Bone Broth Immunity Gummies, we’ve adapted the recipe using Gevity Natural Bone Broth Body Glue, available at Health-E-Living, with ground turmeric and ginger added separately.
The result is a batch of zingy homemade gummies made with orange, lemon, raw honey and simple pantry ingredients. With fresh citrus, warming ginger and turmeric, they’re also a fun, kid-friendly way to add a little extra nourishment during cold-and-flu season.

You’ll need
-
1½ cups freshly squeezed orange juice
-
2 tablespoons lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon Gevity Natural Bone Broth Body Glue
-
2 teaspoons raw honey, or more to taste
-
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
-
¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
-
½ cup water
-
5 tablespoons gelatine
To make
-
Pour the water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatine evenly over the surface and leave it to bloom for approximately five minutes.
-
Add the orange juice, lemon juice, Natural Body Glue, ginger and turmeric to a small saucepan.
-
Warm gently over low heat, whisking until combined. Don’t allow the mixture to boil.
-
Add the bloomed gelatine and continue whisking over low heat until it has completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
-
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir through the raw honey, then taste and add a little more if you prefer a sweeter gummy.
-
Carefully pour the mixture into silicone gummy moulds. If you don’t have moulds, use a small glass dish lined with baking paper.
-
Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until completely firm.
-
Remove the gummies from their moulds—or slice the mixture into bite-sized squares—and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to seven days.
A few helpful notes
Ground turmeric and ginger are stronger than they look, so we recommend starting with the quantities above. If you enjoy a warmer, spicier flavour, you can increase them slightly in your next batch.
Prefer fresh ginger? Replace the ground ginger with approximately 1 teaspoon of finely grated fresh ginger.
No gummy moulds? A lined container works perfectly. Once the mixture has set, simply lift it out and cut it into small squares.
Easy, zingy and a little different—these gummies are a clever way to turn fresh oranges and a spoonful of bone broth into a homemade citrus treat.
Please note: This recipe contains honey and is not suitable for children under 12 months. Serve gummies in an age-appropriate size and supervise young children while eating.
